Help Your Child's Love of Music Bloom and Grow!

One of the things I love about music is that it gives us a sense of passion and purpose! It is a driving force in our everyday lives. Whether we are listening to the radio, iTunes, a CD, maybe even a vinyl record, we can always count on music driving us in some way. When we shift from not only listening but to also playing and creating music ourselves..., well that is a whole new level and moving force that permeates and elevates the whole of our very being. THIS is what I adore about supporting parents and their little loves on their musical journey. It's so much more than a 45-minute music and movement class, once a week! And, I think our community of families would agree. In early childhood, kids are soaking up every bit of their experiences, and they grow and develop so subtly, yet so fast. This small window of opportunity is vast in its entirety. Don't miss out on spending time with your little one this spring in helping them to bloom and grow in music, movement and mindfulness. Now is the time to cease this ever-expansive wave of possibilities.
Our music, movement, and mindfulness classes include various styles of music through sing-a-longs, chanting, large and small movement activities, dancing, marches, call and response tonal and rhythm patterns, finger plays, instrument play, and mindful breathing activities. Embrace yourself for a fun, educational, and musical experience.
Each class is 45 minutes and includes a CD. For the first two years, there is a new CD for each session. We are proud to now be creating a third series of CDs!
There are many benefits that come from socially interactive music and movement experiences:
Music appreciation
Creative expression, thinking, imagination
Social skills
Making new friends
Confidence
Developing rhythm and pitch
Spatial awareness
Listening
Focus and concentration
Timing, coordination and motor skills
Help your child's LOVE of music bloom and grow. Here are some ways you can support your little love on their musical journey:
Show your child to dance by dancing
Inspire your child to sing by singing
Carve out a schedule for music, movement, and mindfulness each day or week
Stay consistent with your schedule
By now you know, kids love repetition ~ repeat, repeat, repeat
Show your joy and enthusiasm for music
Play appropriate and engaging music for your child
Expose your child to a variety of music ~ Culturally diverse and different genres
Take big breaths for calming, focusing and centering
Let your child also be the guide ~ imitate them too
I hope these suggestions help! Most importantly, have fun and enjoy! Music lives inside of us and is a driving force that when given the opportunity, can transform one's life, make a positive impact, bring healing, harmony, creative expression, and peace.
Peace, love, and music!
